Imperial eagle, the arms of emperor Charles V. Behind his arms is Burgundian Cross. Above his crown is his motto: 'Donne moi vertu contre tes annemis' (Give me power against your enemies). Below is another motto of Charles V: 'Plus Oultre' ('Go beyond', i.e. go beyond the Street of Gibralar, into the unknown). A griffin with the shutter of the Golden Fleece on its wing.
