August 2009: Antique-fireback.com delivers an original 'Pro Patria' fireback for installation on the replica ship "De Onrust" which is built on the occasion of the festivities surrounding the 400th anniversary of New York. A version of this fireback is known from the year 1614, when De Onrust was built. De Onrust was the first ship with a deck that was built entirely in America. In 1614, the ship made its maiden trip on the Hudson River, but completely burned during its first trip. Apparently the fire and fireback weren't safe enough ....
