VAT

All our prices listed are VAT and shipping costs excluded. Clients outside the EU are exempt of paying VAT. They do not pay VAT on check-out, but they may have to pay VAT in their own country (e.g. UK, Switzerland, Canada). Companies within the EU can deduct the VAT if they submit their VAT number. The grand total amount in the shopping cart always includes VAT for European customers and excludes it for others.

Most of our products are genuine antiques — meaning they are over 100 years old. Any item described on this website as 19th century or earlier is an original European antique. As such, these items qualify as “antiques” under international customs regulations and are duty-free in most countries. However, local taxes may still apply. United States

Antiques over 100 years old are completely duty- and tax-free when imported into the U.S., also under the EU-US tariff agreement of July 2025.

United Kingdom

Antique items qualify for a reduced 5% import VAT, instead of the usual 20%. No import duty is charged.

Switzerland

No duties are charged, but Swiss VAT of 7.7% applies. Customs may ask for proof of age.

Canada

No customs duty. Sales tax is applied according to your local province (e.g. 5% in Alberta, 13–15% in Ontario/Nova Scotia).

Australia

Antiques are duty-free, but 10% GST applies on the total import value (item + shipping). A customs broker may be required.

Important Notes

  • All our firebacks are shipped with an invoice clearly stating the age and origin.
  • We can provide a signed antique declaration for customs purposes upon request.
  • To qualify as “antique,” items must be at least 100 years old at the time of import.

Currency

It is possible to change the currency of the website prices; however, all payments are processed in euros. The conversion rates for these prices are updated daily using Yahoo Finance Exchange.


Shipping

We aim to ship all orders within 24 hours of receipt. All deliveries require a signature upon arrival. You may provide us with an alternative address where someone can sign for your parcel.

Delivery Times

Delivery times are calculated automatically and can be viewed in the shopping cart. These times are not guaranteed. Please note that delivery times may change when the shipment needs to be sent via freight.


Returns

Return Policy

We hope you will be satisfied with your purchase. However, items may be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided they are free of the following conditions:
  ·   The accessory has been used in a fire by the buyer
  ·   The buyer has attempted to repair the item
  ·   Loss of any parts or attachments that came with the item
  ·   The goods are no longer in a sellable condition as when delivered.

The cost and risk of returning the item are the responsibility of the buyer.
